Aye … it’s happened to me too. The age of no more excuses. I’m staying with my cousin in Phitsanoulok in Thailand. He’s hurrying me out the door, so a short post - I have loads of stuff half written, which will no doubt appear over the following weeks. I’ve been trekking in Nepal and even managed to tick that classic ‘before you’re 30′ box : summiting Everest … OK, in a plane.
The Sonkran Festival is about to kick off here - 3 days of nationwide drunken waterfighting - My cousins mobile is +66 86936 8633 if you’re feeling flush.
OK, hope you’re all well. Thanks for my present mum !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MORGAN !!!!! I hope you have a super day!
I’m so jealous of you:
!
- partly because you managed to keep the 3-0 away for 2 years longer than I have.
- but mainly because you’re in Thailand, celebrating Sonkran! Beware of the pickup trucks with barrels of ice-cooled water. Those are nasty ones to get showered by.
Haven’t visited Thailand in 4 years and starting to show serious signs of abstinence.
Nicolas will be in Malaysia and Thailand this summer (work) and I get to go to Belgium
Give Thailand a big hug from me! And enjoy your birthday!!
Big hugs from the English Belgians (or the Belgian English, whatever you prefer)

Bollocks. Forgot again. many happy returns anyway. I only get to share the joys of lifetime with you for a couple of weeks, but I guess that’s the same every year. Guess I’ve missed Scrimbob as well. Better late than never though and 1 day out…..not too bad for me.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MORGAN
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
happy birthday.
I hope you had a good one. Nice that you spent it with your cousin.
I was up in Glasgow over Easter and saw Andy and Lesley. We had a great night out. Brian was unfortunately out of town so we missed him.
All is well here. Miss you.
glad to hear you are having a great time
Take care of yourself

Awww chucks … Cheers guys. I’ll hopefully be able to mail/skype/phone most of you over the next few weeks while I’m based at Cousin Al’s pad. Be nice to hear YOUR news … you know all mine.

You are no longer my friend as you are now too old and hence not hip and trendy enough.
How about that - you’ve gone from an open-minded young traveller to an ageing hippy suffering from delusions of youth in the space of a day.

Well it’s good to know I’m not alone …
Kath summed me up after the whole Auroville experience with the classic Groucho Marx quote: “I wouldn’t want to be a member of a club that would have me as a member”
I’m in Bangkok today to pick up my Burmese visa - land of the ‘gap year children’. Most people ask me what I’m studying at uni. When I tell them I’m 30 there’s a noticable silence that wasn’t there 2 weeks ago. Too true Matthew !

Happy belated Birthday matey! I remembered on our birthday and was planning on sending salutations sooner, but….I’m crap. 30eh? You realise that means it’s 10 (TEN) years since our Shindig. Sheesh…. My mum’s still got one of the flyers on her pin board - Remeber me, you and Chris in Kung Fu formation?

I find that occasionally with the music thing. A few too many hip young kids at gigs, if you ask me. Then, because I talked to the band people have been known to accidentally think I’m cooler than I am - you should see the look of confused horror on their faces when they realise I’m 31. It only gets worse when I point to the grey hairs and tell them that I’m married!
Still, at least they are surprised.
